Agreement with Kao enables Civo to launch its ‘disruptive’ cloud platform in UK

Specialist developer and operator of advanced data centres, Kao Data, has signed a new customer in Civo, a flexible, developer-first cloud platform based on Kubernetes technology.

Civo uses OCP-accepted technologies to create a disruptive cloud platform that enables developers to create Kubernetes clusters with launch speeds under 90 seconds, far improved from the normal time of up to ten minutes.

This partnership will soon see the deployment of the UK Innovation Corridor’s first fully operational OCP-Ready system by Kao Data and enable Civo to launch its UK cloud region.

Lee Myall, CEO of Kao Data, says the company is ready to help Civo as Kao Data’s first OCP-Ready™ customer and support the launch of their world-class cloud platform in the UK. “Kubernetes adoption continues to accelerate at great speed and we anticipate their cloud-native capabilities will be welcomed by the AI start-up communities within Cambridge and the UK Innovation Corridor,” says Myall.

The Civo pre-configured, OCP-Ready™ system provides a range of benefits, including quick deployment and setup, as well as seamless systems delivery and rapid workload scalability. The unique cloud configuration offered by Civo gives start-ups and enterprise developer communities the ability to develop super-fast clusters, with Civo having worked with more than 4,000 developers across over a hundred countries.

“Kao Data’s OCP-Ready™ facility and their technical expertise in high density computing made them a clear choice to deploy the first Civo cloud in the region,” said Mark Boost, CEO, Civo. “The growth of Kubernetes also makes this an extremely exciting time to launch our new platform in the UK and we’re proud to be driving the next evolution of Kubernetes technology with Kao Data.”
