Cloud Distribution adds data centre team and two new vendors

Thu 7 Dec 2017

A data centre infrastructure team and two vendors have been added to the payroll at Cloud Distribution.

Bosses at Cloud Distribution, a value-added distributor that currently specialises in security, networking and storage, decided the firm’s portfolio should expand into data centre infrastructure (DCI).

This expansion means the introduction of a DCI team. Deals have also been signed to bring in vendor partners Actifio and Accelstor.

These companies now sit alongside firms such as Acronis, Arista Networks, and Pivot3 in Cloud Distribution’s list of vendor partners. The entire portfolio will be managed by Cloud Infrastructure’s new DCI team.

The data centre team will be a source of information for Cloud Distributor partners. Technical, sales and marketing staff will help the company’s partners bring in more deals by focussing on multi-vendor solutions.

“We are really proud to have made this step towards creating our own centre of excellence, as it facilitates additional growth opportunities for both our reseller and vendor partners. The new DCI team complements the existing cybersecurity solutions and networking solutions teams,” said Bruce Hockin, director of DCI solutions at Cloud Distribution.

Actifio, one of the two vendors brought into the fold through this deal, works with around 2700 enterprise business and service providers in 37 different countries. The firm works on data, application and infrastructure virtualisation.

Alexander Downham, EMEA channel manager at Actifio, commented: “Our channel partners are critical to establishing a fast-growing, profitable company that is changing the game through our Enterprise Data-as-a-Service proposition.

“Cloud Distribution is in a strong position to support us in that plan, by extending our reach and value proposition across their extensive partner network.”

The people at Accelstor seem equally as happy with their new bosses. Having been placed amongst the world’s top ten most valuable IT solution providers by Insights Success, the firm will bring software-defined all-flash storage to Cloud Distribution’s data centre infrastructure portfolio.

“By joining Accelstor’s expertise in all-flash storage arrays with Cloud Distribution’s knowledge and relationships within the partner community, we can define new opportunities for the digital transformation of big data applications. We are excited to be making this partnership with them and their DCI team,” said Stefan Ferrari, Accelstor’s technical sales director.

Founded in 2009 by a group of executives from the security, networking and optimisation sector, Cloud Distribution is a distributor of products in those markets that value-added resellers then take to market.
