AWS now available through Telehouse London data centre

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is now available through Telehouse, a leading provider of data centre services.
AWS will be made available via Telehouse’s connectivity exchange, called Telehouse Cloud Link, which was launched earlier this year.
Customers of Telehouse’s campus in London Docklands will be offered a secure connection to AWS, as well as Microsoft Express Route.
Telehouse’s London Docklands campus hosts a dedicated online portal which enables customers to push data transfer between their network and cloud services.
In a release, Telehouse cited the 2017 Rightscale State of the Cloud Report which showed that 85% of enterprises are now running a multi-cloud operation and that most businesses operate through the cloud. It noted that companies are therefore looking for the ability to quickly and efficiently transfer data to cloud services via direct connections.
Managing director of Telehouse Europe, Ken Sakai, said: ‘Providing secure and private access to the leading cloud service provider Amazon Web Services through Telehouse Cloud Link, further extends the choice and ease with which our customers can manage their hybrid IT solutions with Telehouse.’
Telehouse, established in 1989, is a global provider of data centre colocation services and offers data centre, managed and connectivity solutions to more than 3000 businesses worldwide. It opened the first purpose-built, neutral data centre in Europe.
Telehouse is the data centre-focussed subsidiary of KDDI, a Japanese telecommunications company that operates in 28 countries and is listed on the Global Fortune rankings.
In a recent earnings report from Amazon, which showed poor results for the company as a whole, AWS made sales of $4.1 billion (approx. £3.15 billion), amounting to a profit of $916 million.
In the same earnings announcement, Amazon CFO Brian Olsavsky stated that the company is looking to build five more data centres across the coming year.
