Wed 1 Oct 2014

London-based infrastructure company Redstone, has today announced that it has signed a partnership deal with IO, the software-defined data centre specialists, to help promote its modular data centre services and solutions across the EMEA market.

Through the partnership, Redstone will offer its industry expertise in structured cabling, data centre fit-out and support to clients looking to rent storage space in IO’s purpose-built data centre, which is located in Slough at the centre of the UK’s IT corridor.

IO, on the other hand, emphasised that their leading software-defined data centre technologies would be able to draw great benefit from Redstone’s decades of technical experience, as well as its strong customer base.

“The data centre market continues to evolve at an incredible pace, with customers seeking ever-faster deployment and reduction in operating costs,” explained managing director of Redstone, Brendan Loughrey, in an online statement.

“IO has truly innovative solutions that can change the way that data centres are delivered. I am very pleased that Redstone has partnered with IO as it enters the EMEA market,” he continued.

Asked about the deal with Redstone, Ricky Cooper, IO group leader for EMEA sales, told reporters:

“In preparation for our launch in the UK, IO is developing a strong team, critical partnerships, and a state-of-the-art data centre in Slough […] Redstone will help IO gain traction in the EMEA market, and together, we will provide a compelling data centre offering in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.”

In their first collaborative project, Redstone and IO are working together to provide data centre solutions for an international financial services group, due for completion by early 2015.
