Google expands certified developer network in India

Mon 3 Apr 2017

Google has announced the expansion of the Google Certified Developer Agency Program in India. The second wave of partners brings the total number of certified Google partners in India to six, and the worldwide total to 25.

The Google Developer Agency Program was started in 2015 to provide software developer agencies with dedicated training and access to the most up-to-date products and APIs from Google.

Specifically, developers who are accepted into the agency program gain access to training, special events and early access programs. They also have opportunities to showcase applications and receive 1:1 support from Google.

The certification aspect of the program was launched in May 2016, to recognize developers that demonstrate technological expertise and competence in building high-quality apps. Agencies must be qualified members of the Google Developer Agency program and apply for certification. At that point, Google evaluates the agency’s participation in Google programs, staff technological competencies, quality of apps, and client feedback.

Should a development agency qualify to become a Certified Agency, the company may feature a badge on websites and promotional materials. This way, existing and prospective clients are immediately informed of the agency’s status, helping to set Certified Agencies apart from the competition.

Shyamal Mehta, co-founder of Techjini, said that being a part of the Developer Agency Program was beneficial for business because of the opportunity to work directly with Google engineers. “There is a growing demand to build visually appealing apps that can also deliver a great user experience even in poor network conditions.”

He added, “Being part of the network allowed us to work hand in hand with the Google  developer advocates and support team to identify and solve performance roadblocks and deliver a product which offers a great user experience.”

Techjini was featured in a YouTube spotlight series providing information on how the Google Developer Agency is helping software companies to improve their services and gain a reputation for excellence.

Other companies in India that have achieved Google Developer Agency certification include Mutual Mobile, Cognitive Clouds, xCube Labs, Divum, and Good Work Labs.
