After more than a year’s extensive work, with a total investment of £216.2 million (€250 million), Telehouse has announced the opening of its new data centre in the TH3 Paris Magny Campus.
The data centre, spanning 12,000sqm, operates at a total electrical power of 18MW.
The campus in located 30 minutes from central Paris on a former EADS military site. It is also situated outside the concentration zone for data centres in north-eastern Paris, a key factor for geographical redundancy, security, continuity.
“Our new data centre fits into our strategic plan, supporting European and national digital sovereignty, helping to broaden our hosting and connectivity capabilities,” said Sami Slim, General Manager of Telehouse France.
The data centre features free-chilling built into its air-condenser refrigeration units to minimise water consumption and reduce electricity consumption. The water usage effectiveness (WUE) of the data centre is close to zero, as well as a power usage effectiveness of less than 1.3.
The data centre reportedly runs on 100% renewable electricity with guarantee of origin certificates, giving a carbon usage efficiency (CUE) of close to zero by using the market-based GHG Protocol.
