Rubrik introduces Salesforce data protection

Rubrik has announced it is unveiling Salesforce Data Protection to help keep organisations up and running.

Salesforce Data Protection is a backup and recovery solution for Salesforce Core Platform data. the new offering is powered by the data security capabilities of Rubrik Security Cloud, a unified platform that consolidates data protection across SaaS, cloud, and on-premises environments, simplifying management and enhancing operational efficiency. This offering adds to Rubrik’s existing data protection for SaaS tools like M365 and Jira.

According to Gartner, by 2028, 75% of enterprises will prioritise backup of SaaS applications as a critical requirement, compared with 15% in 2024.

Rubrik said many of the largest organisations in the world rely on Salesforce as their CRM app that powers their business operations, helping them drive revenue faster. As the single source of truth for many downstream financial applications, Salesforce users cannot risk costly downtime caused by accidental errors or cyber events that can trigger a cascading effect across their interconnected systems.

Extending Rubrik’s data protection capabilities, Salesforce Data Protection helps Salesforce admins, IT, and security leaders proactively establish a reliable backup and recovery strategy. When they find themselves in the wake of a data loss incident, operations can return to ‘business as usual’ quickly and within a single platform designed to simplify management, reduce costs, and enhance security.

Built on a zero-trust architecture, Salesforce users can utilise Rubrik’s air-gapped, secure backups to protect against unauthorised access and ransomware attacks, helping ensure their data remains secure.

Features of Rubrik’s Salesforce Data Protection

Rubrik helps organisations achieve rapid and precise recoveries by optimising recovery point objectives (RPOs) and recovery time objectives (RTOs). It identifies when an incident occurred and accurately determines its root cause. The system allows for quick recovery of lost records, including related ones, to the correct point in time.

Rubrik also supports maintaining high data quality and integrity by enabling precise recovery and tracking of granular changes at the record level. This capability helps ensure that data backup and recovery strategies are secure, preserving the reliability and validity of information and avoiding the restoration of corrupted data.

The platform features an intuitive user interface that simplifies backup configuration and management for Salesforce administrators. This ease of use reduces complexity while still providing strong data protection.
