Pragmatic Semiconductor announced the appointment of Dr. Venkata “Murthy” Renduchintala as a non-executive director to its Board of Directors, effective immediately.
Dr. Renduchintala brings over 30 years of extensive experience in the technology industry, particularly within the semiconductor sector. Most recently, he served as Chief Engineering Officer and Global Group President of Intel Inc.’s Technology, Manufacturing and Systems Architecture Group.
Prior to his tenure at Intel, he was Executive Vice President at Qualcomm Inc., where he also co-headed Qualcomm CDMA Technologies. His career includes significant leadership roles at Skyworks Inc. and Philips Electronics.
“I look forward to supporting David, Erik, and the Pragmatic leadership team in fulfilling our collective ambition to make this company a significant and important part of the UK and global semiconductor industry,” said Dr. Renduchintala.
In addition to his new role at Pragmatic, Dr. Renduchintala has been a board member at Accenture Plc since April 2018 and at First Solar Inc. since May 2024. At Accenture, he participates in the Audit and Finance committees, while at First Solar, he chairs the Technology committee. He was also appointed an Honorary Professor by the University of Bradford in 2022. Dr. Renduchintala will continue to fulfil these commitments alongside his duties at Pragmatic.
“On behalf of the Pragmatic Board of Directors, I wish to extend a warm welcome to Murthy as a non-executive director. His vast management experience and deep understanding of the semiconductor sector will bring invaluable additional perspective and strategic insight,” said Erik Langaker, Chairman of the Board at Pragmatic Semiconductor.
Pragmatic Semiconductor is at the forefront of semiconductor technology design and fabrication. The company’s approach focuses on producing ultra-low-cost, flexible integrated circuit (FlexIC) technology. As an integrated device manufacturer (IDM) and operator of Pragmatic Park, the UK’s first 300mm semiconductor fabrication line, Pragmatic is positioned to produce billions of FlexICs annually.
“Murthy’s immense industry experience and track record of delivering at scale across technology, engineering and commercial disciplines will be of tremendous strategic value to both the board and the executive management team,” said David Moore, CEO at Pragmatic Semiconductor.
FlexICs offer a sustainable alternative to traditional silicon chips, featuring an ultra-thin and flexible form factor that supports connect, sense, and compute capabilities. This technology is set to drive the AI-enabled Internet of Everything (IoE) across various sectors including consumer, industrial, and healthcare. Pragmatic’s mission is to deliver item-level intelligence to trillions of smart objects over the next decade.
