Mimecast acquires Code42 to enhance insider threat detection

Human risk management platform, Mimecast, announced the acquisition of insider threat and data loss protection company, Code42.

This acquisition builds on the success of their existing technology partnership and marks a critical step in Mimecast’s strategy to change how organisations manage and mitigate human-centred security risks. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

CEO at Mimecast, Marc van Zadelhoff, said Mimecast’s platform stands out in the ‘crowded industry by focusing specifically on the critical moment of risk’ when a person opens their laptop.

The Mimecast CEO added integrating leading solutions like Code42 broadens and deepens the company’s security and human risk management capabilities.

Code42 provides insider threat and data leak protection capabilities native to the cloud, enabling companies to protect critical data from exposure, loss, leak, and theft, while accelerating incident response times. Mimecast said the acquisition will enable businesses to gain comprehensive visibility and strategic insight across the expanding attack surface.
