Photonic supercomputing company, Lightmatter, has appointed Simona Jankowski as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

With over 20 years of experience from NVIDIA and Goldman Sachs, Jankowski brings expertise in financial strategy and investor relations, particularly within the artificial intelligence (AI) sector.

“Simona’s background in financial strategy and investor relations, combined with her deep knowledge of AI, will help us scale our operations and prepare for future growth,” said Nick Harris, Co-Founder and CEO of Lightmatter.

Previously at NVIDIA, Jankowski served as Vice President, Investor Relations & Strategic Finance, contributing to the company’s growth during a transformative period. Her earlier role as Managing Director at Goldman Sachs involved leading equity research for hardware and communications technology sectors.

“Generative AI is spurring demand for new extreme-scale data centres. Lightmatter’s photonics breakthroughs significantly enhance data centre scalability and performance while improving energy efficiency,” said Jankowski.

Lightmatter said Jankowski’s appointment reflects the company’s strategic focus on strengthening its financial operations and advancing photonics-based computing solutions. Her leadership is expected to guide the company through its next phase of innovation and expansion.
