Press Release by Kao Data Thu 11 Jan 2024
Kao Data has announced the appointment of Doug Loewe as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Loewe, an accomplished international business executive from Columbus, Ohio, brings over 35 years of experience in building and leading high-performing teams in the global technology sector.
Loewe’s Vision for Kao Data’s Expansion
At Kao Data, Loewe will lead the company’s growth strategy across the UK and continental Europe, focusing on expanding its high-performance colocation platform into new territories and data centre hubs, including Europe.
His appointment comes at a pivotal moment for Kao Data. In May 2023, Kao Data made a £350 million investment in a new data centre in Greater Manchester. And in November 2023, the company went live with its KLON-02 data centre in Harlow.
David Bloom, Founder and Chairman of Kao Data, said: “Doug’s outstanding reputation for driving business strategy, growth and leading world-class teams truly speaks for itself.”
Bloom believes Loewe’s insight and entrepreneurial ethos will accelerate Kao Data’s ambitions in the European region.
Loewe’s career, marked by leadership roles in startups, scaleups, and large corporations, is complemented by his academic credentials, including a degree in computer science from Ohio State University, an MBA from the University of Chicago, and a director’s course at Harvard Business School.
Loewe is known for his entrepreneurial approach at all operation levels and has previously held senior positions at notable companies like Macquarie Asset Management, Virtus, Yondr, Interxion, Rackspace, and CompuServe Network Services.
Loewe said: “With a rich heritage of delivering data centre excellence, and underlying principles that ensure sustainability and ESG are at the heart of every decision, it was a natural fit with the high-achieving values I have always held close.”
Loewe’s appointment as CEO of Kao Data is effective immediately, marking a new chapter in the company.
