Intel appoints Justin Hotard as EVP and GM of Data Center and AI Group

Intel Corporation has announced the appointment of Justin Hotard as Executive Vice President and General Manager of its Data Center and AI Group (DCAI), effective February 1.

Hotard, with over two decades of experience in the computing and data centre industry, joins Intel to spearhead growth and transformation in these crucial sectors.

Leadership Role in AI and Data Centre Innovations

Hotard will join Intel’s executive leadership team, reporting directly to the company’s CEO. His role encompasses overseeing Intel’s suite of data centre products, including the Intel Xeon processor family, graphics processing units, and accelerators.

A key part of his responsibility will be to drive Intel’s mission to extend AI capabilities across various domains.

Pat Gelsinger, Intel CEO, said: “Justin is a proven leader with a customer-first mindset and has an impressive track record in driving growth and innovation in the data center and AI.”

Before joining Intel, Hotard was the Executive Vice President and General Manager of High-Performance Computing, AI, and Labs at Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE).

His tenure at HPE was marked by significant contributions to delivering AI solutions and directing the company’s central applied research group, Hewlett Packard Labs.

Hotard’s professional background includes leadership roles at NCR Small Business and positions at Symbol Technologies and Motorola Inc.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.

Justin Hotard will succeed Sandra Rivera, who recently became the CEO of the Programmable Solutions Group, an Intel standalone business.
