Demand for AI fuels £237M annual revenue milestone at Fivetran

California-based data movement company, Fivetran has reported annual recurring revenue (ARR) exceeding £237.1 million ($300 million), marking a significant increase from £158.1 million ($200 million) in 2023.

Fivetran said this revenue milestone reflects sustained growth, with year-over-year gains accelerating for two consecutive quarters.

George Fraser, CEO of Fivetran, attributed the growth to rising demand for automated and secure data movement solutions as businesses increasingly adopt artificial intelligence (AI) driven decision-making.

“Through our global partnerships, work with industry leaders like OpenAI, and innovative products, we are helping organisations unlock the full potential of their data, ensuring they can scale efficiently while maintaining governance and control,” said Fraser.

Expansion of AI-Driven Partnerships and Solutions at Fivetran

Fivetran has expanded its collaborations with Snowflake and Databricks to enhance data integration and governance. The company said its support for Snowflake Iceberg Tables helps businesses implement scalable lakehouse architectures using Apache Iceberg, ensuring data quality and usability.

Fivetran is also advancing native connectors for Snowflake through the Snowflake Marketplace, simplifying data replication processes. Simultaneously, it is strengthening integrations with Databricks Unity Catalog and supporting open-source metadata registration for improved data lake management.

Growth in Data Integration Capabilities

In 2024, Fivetran expanded its connector portfolio to over 600 pre-built options, which it says is the largest among data movement platforms. These connectors enable integration across various data sources, including SaaS platforms, databases, and event streams, supporting advanced analytics and AI applications.

In June, Fivetran introduced a Managed Data Lake Service designed to automate the organisation of data from more than 500 sources into lakes using open table formats such as Apache Iceberg and Delta Lake. The service aims to combine the governance benefits of data warehouses with the flexibility of data lakes.

Fivetran emphasised its commitment to addressing the complexities of data governance and compliance in the era of AI. The company said its solutions are designed to help businesses handle large-scale data demands, such as those of OpenAI, while maintaining operational efficiency and control.
