Global Switch and HKBNES partner on liquid-cooled data centre services

Global Switch has announced a partnership with HKBN Enterprise Solutions (HKBNES) to provide enterprise customers with access to its advanced data centre infrastructure, including liquid cooling solutions.
Global Switch introduced liquid cooling technology at its Hong Kong data centre last September, marking a first for the region. As businesses increasingly deploy hardware for AI and high-performance computing, demand for more efficient cooling methods has grown. The partnership with HKBNES aims to support this shift by offering scalable and resilient infrastructure tailored to evolving computing needs.
“Last year, we showcased the latest in liquid cooling technology at our Hong Kong data centre, and continue to see strong demand from customers looking for efficient and sustainable AI and HPC deployments. The Global Switch Hong Kong data centre is located in Tseung Kwan O Industrial Estate and lies adjacent to key submarine cable landing stations, providing strong connectivity for industries such as financial services. Spanning over 70,000 sqm with a 100MVA power supply, the facility offers colocation, cloud, and managed services to support the region’s expanding digital economy.
Hong Kong’s Data Centre Market Set for Growth
Hong Kong’s data centre market is projected to grow from £2.3 billion ($3 billion) in 2023 to approximately £4.5 billion ($5.7 billion) by 2028, driven in part by Government initiatives supporting AI development. The city’s computing power demand is expected to reach 15,000 petaflops by 2030, underscoring the need for advanced infrastructure to sustain this growth.
