Evoque Data Center Solutions has announced the successful completion of its acquisition of Cyxtera’s data centre portfolio.
The merger of Evoque and Cyxtera creates a data centre entity with over 50 locations, primarily in North America.
Udhay Mathialagan, Chairman of the Board at Evoque and CEO of Global Data Centers at Brookfield Infrastructure, said: “Combining Evoque and Cyxtera is a strategic step that aligns seamlessly with our vision for data infrastructure investments.”
Mathialagan emphasised that this move significantly enhances the joint organisation’s market presence, diversifies its product portfolio, and broadens its reach globally.
“By integrating Cyxtera’s capabilities and valuable assets, we’re providing essential capacity for current demand while also laying the groundwork for our future expansion and advancements,” added Mathialagan.
Strategic Growth and Enhanced Services
Spencer E. Mullee, CEO of Evoque, reflected on the importance of this strategic move: “We firmly believe this venture will bring significant benefits to both Cyxtera’s and Evoque’s customer bases.”
Mullee assured that the integration of the two companies would be smooth and would continue to offer excellent support to customers.
Mullee will lead the new joint organisation as its CEO. The organisation is a part of Brookfield Infrastructure’s global data centre platform.
The acquisition adds 40 more data centres to Evoque’s portfolio, mainly in the United States and Canada.
This expansion follows Cyxtera’s bankruptcy filing in June 2023 and the subsequent purchase by Brookfield for £634.2 million ($775 million).
The asset purchase agreement (APA) between Cyxtera and Brookfield, finalised on November 1 2023, involved the sale of substantially all of Cyxtera’s assets.
