DXC Technology has secured a five-year contract with Alstom to oversee the company’s entire information system, reinforcing a long-term partnership.

This agreement marks a significant commitment by Alstom towards advancing its digital transformation and fortifying its position in providing innovative and sustainable mobility solutions.

Alstom aims to become a leading entity in the transportation sector through enhancements to its cloud infrastructure.

Stéphane Detruiseux, Chief Information Security Officer and Vice President of Technology at Alstom, said: “To accelerate our agility and lay the foundations for future growth, we needed secure and flexible IT infrastructure. Migrating and optimising our IT infrastructure to public and hybrid cloud environments is a key element of this transformation.”

Under the new agreement, DXC will undertake a large-scale cloud strategy project covering 122 locations, optimising costs and employing agile tools and practices. The initiative will involve the modernisation of Alstom’s essential IT architecture, including SAP. DXC will also help maintain critical data centre infrastructure to ensure data protection and cost management.

Chris Drumgoole, Executive Vice President and Global Lead for Cloud Infrastructure & ITO at DXC Technology, said: “Alstom is a world-leading manufacturer and we are proud to have been selected to bolster its innovation strategy and drive forward its digital transformation with cutting-edge, cloud-enabled business solutions.”
