Connectria opens new data centres in Singapore to enhance IBM and AWS cloud services

Thu 11 Jul 2024

IBM Power Systems cloud services and an AWS Premier Tier Services Partner, Connectria, announced the launch of two new data centres in Singapore.

These facilities are now accepting clients, aiming to advance cloud adoption and modernisation for IBM i and AIX systems.

Connectria’s new data centres in Singapore will integrate public cloud solutions with traditional IT environments, addressing the growing regional demand for IBM infrastructure modernisation and hybrid cloud adoption. The facilities will support seamless migration and management of workloads across various environments, leveraging AWS hybrid connectivity solutions for enhanced business continuity.

“Our expansion into the Asia-Pacific market, alongside our strong partnership with AWS, will significantly boost cloud adoption and modernisation for IBM i and AIX systems customers across the region,” said Troy Mitchell, VP of Channel & Alliances at Connectria.

The new data centres will deploy IBM Power10 systems, providing the scale, availability, and resiliency required by large enterprises in banking, insurance, and manufacturing sectors. These centres will enable Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service (DRaaS) with low latency connectivity to the AWS Asia Pacific (Singapore) Region, facilitating robust disaster recovery solutions.

“By building in the cloud, users inherit resilient, secure, and highly available infrastructure that maximises uptime for their most essential applications and data,” said Chris Casey, Director of Partner Management for Asia Pacific & Japan at AWS.

Connectria will offer direct AWS hybrid connectivity for IBM i and AIX systems, allowing users to combine the reliability of IBM Power with the agility of AWS. This integration will enable businesses to leverage advanced data analytics, AI/ML, IoT, and other native AWS services, thereby accelerating cloud innovation and achieving meaningful business outcomes.

“By offering direct AWS hybrid connectivity for IBM i and AIX systems, users can enjoy the reliability of IBM Power with the agility of AWS. This enables users to boost critical applications with native AWS services, such as advanced data analytics, AI/ML, IoT, and more, which can accelerate cloud innovation with meaningful business outcomes,” said Ryan Pelerin, Chief Commercial Officer at LightEdge.

Connectria’s data centres and managed services comply with essential regulatory frameworks including PCI DSS, SOC 1, 2, and 3, and HIPAA/HITRUST. The company also offers migration services and IBM Power hybrid cloud resources in an infrastructure as a service (IaaS) model, ensuring quick and successful deployments for users, particularly those in highly regulated industries like financial services.
