Venture-builder in DeepTech innovation, Cambridge Future Tech (CFT), have announced the appointment of Michael Beer and Jem Davies as Non-Executive Directors (NEDs) to its board.

The appointments of Beer and Davies are intended to enhance CFT’s strategic direction, accelerating its aim to drive innovation in transformative technologies.

Recently appointed Chief Financial Officer at Energy Vault, Michael Beer, brings financial expertise from senior roles in Silicon Valley at FreeWire Technologies and Luminar Technologies.

“The CFT platform is exceptionally well positioned to identify and attract transformative technologies, partner with purpose-driven founders, and create an environment in which early-stage companies can thrive,” said Beer.

With 15 years of experience in global transportation and infrastructure, CFT said Beer’s insights into the capitalisation and commercialisation of early-stage companies are set to improve CFT’s efforts in sustainable technologies.

Business leader, Jem Davies, has an 18-year career at Arm and joins the board with expertise in technology roadmap development and market positioning. Having served in leadership positions and contributed to Arm’s growth and innovation, CFT said Jem’s strategic guidance will facilitate driving CFT’s initiatives.

“Having worked closely with CFT on founding two of their portfolio companies, I have been really impressed with the quality and skill of all the people involved and I am thrilled to be asked to join the CFT board,” said Davies.

With Beer and Davies on the Board, CFT aims to capitalise on transformative technologies to drive positive change across industries.
