Cadence and Dassault Systèmes launch first cloud-enabled platform for electromechanical system development

Wed 14 Feb 2024

Cadence Design Systems and Dassault Systèmes have announced an enhancement to their strategic partnership, integrating Cadence’s AI-driven OrCAD X and Allegro X with Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE Works Portfolio.

This collaboration aims to enhance the development of electromechanical systems by enabling cloud-enabled collaboration across various design disciplines.

Transforming Product Development with AI and Cloud Integration

The integration facilitates a collaborative environment for electrical and mechanical engineers, speeding up the mechatronics system development process and optimising design for various critical factors including performance and manufacturability.

Kimball Cluff, Executive Vice President of Software Sales at GoEngineer, highlighted the importance of such synergy in avoiding market delays.

“Any companies developing electromechanical products today need a synergistic solution in order to avoid time-to-market delays,” said Cluff.

Tom Beckley, Senior Vice President at Cadence, emphasized the growing complexity in product design due to various modern requirements like electrification and AI/ML.

“Every industry is experiencing exploding product complexity due to electrification, AI/ML, security, connectivity and sustainability requirements,” said Beckley.

Philippe Laufer, Executive Vice President Global Brands at Dassault Systèmes, noted the shift towards experience thinking in product development, stating that the partnership with Cadence empowers customers to embrace this change effectively.

“Today’s experience economy, where the value of a product comes from its usage, drives exponential demand for connected evolutive electromechanical products. Companies are shifting to experience thinking in their product development processes,” said Laufer.

The joint solution aims to reduce design turnaround time by up to five times and is slated for availability in the second quarter of 2024.
