Arrow Electronics partners with Schneider Electric to enhance sustainable IT solutions

Thu 14 Mar 2024

Arrow Electronics has joined forces with Schneider Electric as a new Elite IT Solutions Provider Partner in Europe, following its inclusion in the mySchneider IT Partner Program.

This collaboration aims to empower the channel ecosystem with a comprehensive distribution model focused on on-premises data centre solutions, and infrastructure for AI, HPC, and hybrid-cloud applications.

It also opens up access to Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure sustainability services and software portfolio for MSPs, ISVs, systems integrators, cloud, telco, and enterprise organisations. This can help organisations meet imminent regulatory requirements such as the European Energy Efficiency Directive (EED) by utilising the latest in sustainable, energy efficient and intelligent data centre solutions.

Fostering Sustainability and Efficiency in IT Infrastructure

The partnership underscores a shared commitment to delivering sustainable, energy-efficient solutions to meet the growing demand for high-density data centers and intelligent infrastructure capable of supporting emerging technologies.

Mike Worby, Head of Strategic Alliances for Arrow’s enterprise computing solutions business in EMEA, highlighted the importance of providing sustainable solutions to meet the evolving needs of their channel partners and their end customers.

“Our new collaboration with Schneider Electric is another step forward in enhancing our sustainable solutions offering,” said Worby, emphasising the goal of reducing environmental impact through advanced technology solutions.

The collaboration arrives at a critical time, with the European Energy Efficiency Directive (EED) set to take effect in May 2024, requiring data centres with a capacity of 500kW and above to disclose energy performance data.

James Mealor, Strategic IT Channel Director at Schneider Electric for Europe, pointed out the necessity of diversifying distribution models to equip a new generation of partners with turnkey infrastructure solutions that prioritise sustainability.

“As more organisations begin to embrace emerging technologies such as high-density data centres and GPU-powered computing environments, it is essential that we diversify our distribution models and empower a new generation of partners with sustainable, energy efficient and turnkey infrastructure solutions,” said Mealor.

Addressing Regulatory Challenges Together

Arrow and Schneider Electric’s partnership will facilitate access to the EcoStruxure IT software portfolio for channel partners, enabling organisations to report on sustainability metrics and comply with regulatory standards.

This access to Schneider Electric’s software solutions will aid partners and end-users in meeting  regulatory demands and their long-term sustainability goals, leveraging data analytics and machine learning for more effective environmental impact management.
