Tech Show London awarded Best UK Tradeshow at AEO Excellence Awards

Written by Fri 1 Jul 2022

On Friday 24th June 2022 at Grosvenor House, Park Lane in London, Tech Show London was named the Best UK Tradeshow between 2,000 – 8,000sqm by AEO.

The Association of Event Organisers (AEO) is the trade body representing companies which conceive, create, develop or manage trade and consumer events. It is run by its members for the benefit of its members, through an elected council of representatives, specialist working groups and a fulltime secretariat.

This was arguably the proudest moment for everyone in the Tech Show London team, as the AEO awards represent excellence and achievement in the events industry. The illustrious ceremony, presented this year by comedian and celebrity host Kevin Bridges, recognises and celebrates organisers’ achievements, standards of excellence from venues and service quality by suppliers and contractors throughout the industry.

The judges particularly commented on the very positive results of Tech Show London, describing it as “a strong event that worked hard to match buyers with sellers and drive attendance with …exclusive speakers and a diverse panel of experts.”

Tech Show London, which took place on the 2nd – 3rd March this year, and underpins Cloud Expo Europe, DevOps Live, Cloud & Cyber Security Expo, Big Data & AI World and Data Centre World. The event was an unbelievable success, with world-class Mainstage speakers including Sir Tim Berners-Lee, Inventor of the World Wide Web; Dr Samira Asma, Assistant Director-General for Data, Analytics and Delivery of Impact at WHO, and Sara Milne, Engineering Lead for Culture and Capability at Lloyds Banking Group, to name a few!

We also saw hundreds of industry-leading sponsors, exhibitors and partners, including IBM; Oracle; Amazon, Hitachi, Fujitsu; Salesforce and many more, with 94% of our exhibitors saying they had achieved their objectives at the show!

Tech Show London opened its doors to over 12,000 attendees across the two days of the event, with an impressive 9 out of 10 delegates reporting they would recommend Tech Show London to a friend or colleague, and a whopping 97% saying they achieved their objectives at the event.

It was undoubtedly a fantastic comeback for Tech Show London after almost two years away, and it was wonderful to see our months of hard work pay off. We’d like to take a moment to particularly thank all our attendees, sponsors, exhibitors and partners for making all of this happen – without them there would simply be no Tech Show London.

“What a proud moment for us as a team to win this award, a huge part down to our hard work and team unity,” said Rabinder Aulakh, European Event Director, Data Centre World.

I would like to personally thank all of our sponsors, exhibitors, speakers, associations, attendees and everyone who was involved in making Tech Show London 2022 happen. I am feeling extremely humbled and grateful that the turnout and atmosphere was everything we had hoped for and more!” she continued.

We’d also like to congratulate the other nominees and winners from the AEO Awards, including 9 other CloserStill Events shortlisted for a number of awarding categories. It has been amazing to see the industry thriving again – here’s to next year and many more to come!

Tech Show London will return again on 8th – 9th March 2023 at ExCeL, London – so make sure to register your interest now for the UK’s Best Tradeshow.
