Tech Show London 2024 Shatters Records, Cementing it as Landmark Event for Tech Innovation and Collaboration

Written by Mon 18 Mar 2024

Tech Show London and its five co-located events attracted over 19,000 attendees, setting a new attendance record for a tech event at ExCeL London.

This year’s event, held on 6-7 March, surpassed last year’s record by 30%, demonstrating significant growth and interest in the technology sector.

The event encompassed Cloud Expo Europe, DevOps Live, Cloud & Cyber Security Expo, Big Data & AI World, and Data Centre World, offering a comprehensive platform for industry professionals.

Notably, the event drew C-Level executives from leading companies such as Amazon, Booking.com, Canon, Citigroup, DAZN, FedEx, Ford Motor Company, Heineken, HSBC, ITV, Jaguar Land Rover, JPMorgan Chase & Co., L’Oreal, Thomson Reuters, UK Government, and Vodafone.

Alice MacGregor, expressed her enthusiasm about the overwhelming turnout: “We were thrilled to see such an incredible number of attendees at Tech Show London this year. The energy was palpable, with standing room only at many of our conference sessions throughout the two days,” said Alice MacGregor, Head of Marketing and Content for Tech (Europe) at CloserStill Media.

Diverse and Insightful Conference Programme

The conference’s 15 stages hosted more than 700 speakers, with discussions led by notable figures including Professor Brian Cox, Piers Linney, and Dame Stephanie Shirley.

The diversity of the keynote speakers was a highlight, with 63% female leaders and 31% from underrepresented groups, emphasising the event’s commitment to inclusivity.

“It has been a brilliant day out. I have seen so many interesting companies that we may want to use and learn from. All the sessions I have seen were really good,” said James Allit, Lead Engineer at Canada Life UK.

Participants had the opportunity to hear from representatives of organisations like Amazon Web Services, the BBC, Barclays, Google, Holland & Barrett, IBM, Liverpool FC, Microsoft, NASA, Oracle, PureGym, PepsiCo, Starling Bank, the UN, and YSL Beauty.

An eclectic range of topics were covered, ranging from the mysteries of the universe to practical applications of technology in various industries.

“I want to understand the latest advantages or updates in the technology industry, especially from the data centre, AI, and DevOps areas. Since last year, I can see there was even more enthusiasm from different participants and sponsors. If I could sum up the event in a few words, it’d be ‘excellent’ and ‘well organised’” said Karthi Kumar Kuppuswamy, Vice President of Barclays Plc.

Fostering Connections and Celebrating Women in Tech

A special feature of this year’s Tech Show London was the Women in Tech Networking Event, which saw a huge turnout.

“I am in the training and data space, and I want to hear from somebody addressing the skills gap. It is cool to see what other companies are saying and what they need to train in. I can take that away and start thinking about building a training programme,” said Eva Bednarova, Engineering Lead at Lloyds Banking Group.

This session provided a platform for attendees to exchange insights and build meaningful connections, reinforcing the event’s role in promoting diversity and collaboration within the technology community.

“This massive turnout is a testament to the vibrant interest and ongoing commitment within the tech community. We’re already looking forward to what next year will bring,” added MacGregor.

Tech Show London will return on 12-13 March at ExCeL London.
