Written by Thu 2 Nov 2023

UK data centre edge provider Pulsant has announced a £4.5 million ($5.4 million) investment into its Manchester data centre.

The allocated funds will facilitate the installation of a fourth data hall, expanding the facility by 320sqm and providing an extra 300kW of IT capacity.

Connectivity and cooling improvements are also planned, with the expansion expected to be operational by December 2023.

“For regional businesses to thrive, they need access to a high bandwidth, low latency interconnection network. This investment in Manchester extends our commitment to support the growing technology demand for regional data centre access and colocation services across the North West,” said Ben Cranham, Chief Operating Officer at Pulsant.

Pulsant’s Manchester data centre currently offers 1.1MW across three data halls.

Pulsant operates 12 data centres across the UK. Most recently, the company announced it will invest £3 million ($3.6 million) to expand its Rotherham data centre capacity by 116% to 380kW. The additional power will accommodate the increasing demand for low latency, high performance, and scalable network infrastructure.
