New partnership will see Orange Business Services facilitate cloud migration and cloud-native adoption

Orange Business Services has signed a strategic partnership with AWS that will see the French IT services company support enterprises worldwide with cloud adoption.

As part of the agreement, Orange and AWS will forge new products and services around modernization and migration, data analytics, innovation and security to help organisations fast-track cloud migration plans.

Orange will consult on standardising, scaling and optimising applications for customer AWS environments to accelerate innovation cycles, reduce risks and increase efficiency, the company said.

Orange will also establish a Cloud Center of Excellence built on AWS and develop a training and certification program for the company’s 3,000-strong roster of cloud, cybersecurity, digital and data experts.

The announcement follows news of similar partnerships Orange struck with Microsoft and Google, indicating the IT services giant sees a big opportunity to carve out a position as a leader in multi-cloud services.

Stefan Kanis, Senior Vice President Cloud Business Unit at Orange Business Services, said the partnership will deliver new business opportunities for Orange and its customers.

“This collaboration with AWS extends our relationship, leveling up our capabilities to simplify and accelerate customers’ cloud transformations. Customers appreciate having a combination of our cloud excellence to address their specific needs as well as our global vision with local care,” he said.

Meanwhile, AWS Head of Global Partner Organization, Doug Yeum, praised Orange’s ‘unique set of capabilities across connectivity, design, migration, security and local delivery’.

“Together, we offer a proven digital transformation roadmap to help customers leverage the breadth and depth of AWS services to quickly develop and deploy cloud-native applications that are highly secure, resilient, and performant,” he said.

Orange Business Services is a digital services company and the global enterprise division of the telco giant of the same name. The division has over 3,000 multinational enterprise customers and 27,000 employees.
