New $11bn IT services entity to be headquartered in London

Japanese telecommunications company NTT Corp has consolidated three of its key IT businesses into a single $11bn (£8.7bn) business.

The new technology services arm is called NTT Ltd and is made up of Dimension Data, NTT Communications and NTT Security.

In total 28 brands have been bundled into the new entity, which has 40,000 employees in 70 countries and regions and 10,000 clients, NTT Corp said.

Dimension Data is the largest company to be bundled into the new entity. The hybrid IT systems integrator and managed service provider boasts $8bn (£6.3bn) in revenues.

Ex-Dimension Data CEO Jason Goodall will front the new business going forward.

John Lombard, who previously worked for Dimension Data, will head up NTT Ltd’s APAC office (excluding Japan and Australia).

“There is a lot of work to be done over the next few months as we will be working to integrate a total of 28 companies into a world-class technology services organisation,” Lombard said.

The business will be headquartered in London. NTT Corp CEO Jun Sawada said the location was strategic.

“We considered several locations as the headquarters for NTT Ltd and made a deliberate decision to choose London,” Sawada said.

“It has many benefits, including a stable economy, wealth of skills and talent, diversity in population and thinking, strong infrastructure, schools and housing for global talent moving to the city. In short, it’s a great city to live and work in, and we’re excited that we are making it the home for our new business.”
