Nscale and VAST Data Partner to Build Global AI Infrastructure
Written by Rebecca Uffindell Tue 4 Nov 2025

AI infrastructure provider Nscale has partnered with VAST Data to develop what the companies describe as a globally distributed, vertically integrated AI cloud. The partnership is designed to support the most data-intensive training and deployment workloads.
The collaboration unites VAST Data’s AI Operating System (AI OS) with Nscale’s expanding hyperscale infrastructure footprint. The companies aim to create an AI cloud fabric that unifies compute and data layers across Europe and North America, optimised for emerging agentic AI models.
Scaling AI Infrastructure Across Continents
Nscale, headquartered in Europe, has rapidly emerged as one of the region’s most visible entrants in hyperscale AI infrastructure. The company plans to deploy up to 300,000 NVIDIA Grace Blackwell GPUs worldwide. This significant commitment places it among the most ambitious operators outside the US and Asia.
Under the partnership, VAST Data’s AI OS will underpin Nscale’s global cloud, providing a unified data layer that integrates storage, metadata management, and GPU orchestration to sustain high compute efficiency across regions. The system builds on NVIDIA’s Cloud Partner reference architecture, designed to standardise performance and interconnectivity between GPU clusters.
According to Nscale Chief Revenue Officer Tom Burke, the collaboration is intended to help enterprises handle the growing complexity of AI workloads.
“The future of AI will not be defined by raw compute alone, but by the strength of the foundations we build,” said Burke. “That means infrastructure that can scale globally, operate responsibly, and deliver when it matters most. With VAST as one of our data layers, we are able to take on the complexity of hyperscale AI and make it seamless for our customers – putting rich data services at the centre of the modern AI cloud. Together, we are creating a new standard for the next era of enterprise AI infrastructure.”
Building the “Global Fabric” for Enterprise AI
VAST Data Co-founder Jeff Denworth described the partnership as a proof point for the infrastructure dependencies behind the current generation of AI.
“This is not just about building another cloud; it is about creating the global fabric that will power the next generation of AI,” said Jeff Denworth, Co-founder, VAST Data. “By serving as a partner in the next phase of Nscale’s GPU build-out, the VAST AI OS proves what the industry already knows: AI innovation is impossible without a data platform that can keep up. Working with Nscale and, we are defining the model for hyperscale AI infrastructure and showing the world what the future looks like.”
By combining Nscale’s renewable-powered data centres with VAST’s data management technology, the companies say they can deliver improved GPU utilisation and faster access to distributed datasets — key requirements for scaling large language models and agentic systems.
Sustainability and Strategic Context
Both organisations emphasised sustainability as a design principle, noting that Nscale’s vertically integrated model gives it control from hardware sourcing to energy strategy. The company has signalled plans to expand across key European and North American hubs as AI demand drives new regional infrastructure investment.
The partnership underscores an accelerating trend toward vertically integrated AI infrastructure, where providers seek to control every layer of the compute and data stack to meet enterprise performance, security, and efficiency demands.
