Kyndryl extends deal with Stellantis for global data centre support

Written by Mon 4 Mar 2024

IT infrastructure services provider, Kyndryl, announced an expanded multi-year agreement with automaker, Stellantis, to operate business operations like data centre support, local IT services support, and networking in Europe, North America, and South America.

Kyndryl will contribute to modernising Stellantis’ IT infrastructure, building on the agreement announced in February 2023.

Kyndryl said this will enable the automaker to access a wider range of skilled technical resources and rebalance internal skills to enhance its focus on digital, cybersecurity, new business models, and customer-centric solutions.

Vice President of Global Technology and Operations at Stellantis, Gilles Feuntun, said the company is working to ‘reimagine mobility’ as the world knows it and set new benchmarks in the fast-evolving industry.

“It means teaming with the world’s technology leaders to offer innovative and sustainable products and solutions that meet the evolving needs of both customers and the planet,” said Feuntun.

Both Kyndryl and Stellantis will continue their collaboration to co-create and co-innovate solutions that enhance user experience, operational efficiency, and sustainability in the automotive industry.

“Our collaboration is based on a shared vision of digital transformation and innovation, leveraging Kyndryl’s global scale, industry knowledge and technology expertise to help Stellantis achieve its strategic goals and ambitions,” said Angelo Cirocco, Managing Partner at Kyndryl.

Last year, Kyndryl signed deals with the UK’s HM Revenue and Customs, Legal & General, the UK Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs, and BT Group.

Kyndryl was formed in 2021 when IBM spun off its legacy IT infrastructure business.
