Industry leaders converge at Tech Show Frankfurt 2024 for largest event yet

Tech Show Frankfurt, held on 22-23 May 2024, celebrated its most significant edition to date, bringing together four colocated events: Data Centre World, Cloud Expo Europe, Big Data & AI World, and Cloud & Cyber Security Expo.

This year’s show featured 13 conference stages, showcasing cutting-edge content streams and forward-thinking solutions in the tech industry.

Tech Show Frankfurt 2024 showcased the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) across its events. Cloud Expo Europe covered AI-driven business transformation and cloud computing trends, while Cloud & Cyber Security Expo focused on AI’s role in security and the importance of DevSecOps. Big Data & AI World featured discussions on generative AI for business, data governance, and data literacy. Data Centre World highlighted AI’s impact on energy efficiency and sustainability in data centres.

Diverse and Insightful Conference Programme

At Data Centre World, Thomas Hofbauer from Schäfer IT-systems, Steffen Breiter from Siemens AG/VIRZ® Verband Innovatives Rechenzentrum e.V., William Ringer from HKS, Inc., and Danel Turk from ABB Data Centers discussed advancements in sustainability and operational efficiency.

Günter Eggers from the German Datacenter Association emphasised the industry’s progress in energy efficiency and climate protection.

Big Data & AI World featured leaders like Fardin Karimi of MobiLab, Christian Geckeis of IBM, Falk Kukat of Fivetran, Misko Flury of Tableau Software, and Maximilian Hahnenkamp of Scavenger AI, who explored AI’s transformative potential and effective data governance strategies.

Cloud Expo Europe brought together experts such as Ramon Gonzalez from DE-CIX Management GmbH, Christian Kniep from the Max Planck Institute for Human Development, Stephan Ilaender from Schwarz IT KG, and Ernst Stöckl-Pukall from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action

Cloud & Cyber Security Expo featured cybersecurity specialists like Marina Marceta from THE HEINEKEN COMPANY, Steven Furnell from the University of Nottingham, Anja Loether from GITHUB, Jarec Baum from Eviden Germany, and Lisa Hackmann from DB Energie GmbH.

Fostering Connections and Celebrating Women in Tech

Renowned expert in digital transformation and diversity in the tech industry, Tijen Onaran, a delivered an inspiring keynote speech at Tech Show Frankfurt. With her extensive experience and expertise, Onaran captivated the audience with her insights into the evolving landscape of technology and the importance of diversity and inclusion.

The Women in Tech networking event hosted trailblazers of the industry who were keen to discuss key issues, opportunities, and major developments across the tech environment for women.

The Women in Tech panel, held on the second day of Tech Show Frankfurt, celebrated the impact of women in technology. Featuring leaders like Prof. Dr. Kristina Sinemus, Hessian Minister for Digitalisation and Innovation; Eileen O’Sullivan, Deputy Mayor for the City of Frankfurt am Main; Agathe Engelmann from ING Deutschland; and moderated by Noha Salama from Women in Tech® Global; the panel discussed diversity, inclusion, and the importance of mentorship and flexible work models in advancing digitalisation.

These discussions underscored the essential role of women in driving technological innovation and the need for continued efforts to promote gender diversity in the tech industry.

Networking to Promote Connection

The event’s networking highlights included MyFest and the Women in Tech networking event, both of which saw an incredible turnout.

MyFest, renowned as the ultimate after-work networking event, provided a relaxed and unforgettable experience with free beer, traditional German dishes, and lively music, perfect for socialising and forming new connections.

Showcasing the Future of Tech

Exhibitors had numerous opportunities to showcase their latest innovations. Notably, Kehua Tech unveiled a fully operational data centre constructed in just 12 hours, a remarkable feat given that such projects typically take four to seven days.

The event’s popularity with exhibitors is evident as many top industry players have already secured their participation for Tech Show Frankfurt 2025, including Anydesk, Bechtle, Redgate Software, CrowdStrike, Aqua Security, LogRhythm, Denodo, Zoho, BE-terna, Boreas, Exagate, Vertiv, and Legrand.
