Written by Thu 1 Feb 2024

Telcom has been chosen to provide dedicated full fibre internet to the St Michael’s development in Manchester, a £400 million ($509 million) project led by Gary Neville’s Relentless Developments.

The mixed-use development, set to be a landmark in Manchester’s city centre, will benefit from Telcom’s Preconnect solution.

Steven Calder, Head of Connected Buildings at Telcom, said: “As a Mancunian-born company, Telcom could not be more humbled or thrilled to be contributing to the revitalisation and development of our city’s historic centre.” he said.

Sustainable Connectivity in St Michael’s

St Michael’s is poised to become Manchester’s first net-zero carbon commercial development upon the completion of its first phase in 2024.

The development will include luxury living, premium office spaces, and a five-star hotel.

Telcom’s strategic partnership with property consultants Zerum aims to equip the development with up to 10Gbps full fibre internet, supporting the project’s ambitious sustainability and technological goals.

Anthony Kilbride, Co-Director of Relentless Developments, emphasised the importance of cutting-edge connectivity for the project: “Delivering hyperfast, reliable, and convenient connectivity for our commercial tenants is going to play a big part in making St Michael’s one of the most sustainable and smart spaces in the UK.”

This partnership underscores the pivotal role of advanced internet solutions in modern urban developments, enhancing the appeal and functionality of high-profile projects like St Michael’s.
