Foxconn, Nvidia to Create £1 Billion Supercomputing Cluster in 2026

Foxconn and Nvidia are building a £1 billion ($1.4 billion) supercomputing centre, which will be completed by the first half of 2026.
When established, the 27 megawatt data centre will be the first GB300 AI centre in Asia and will be entirely powered by Nvidia Blackwell GB300 chips. A new Foxconn department has been created for all cloud and AI supercomputing operations called Visionbay.ai.
“As GPU technology accelerates, building individual facilities may no longer make economic sense,” explained Nvidia vice president, Alexis Bjorlin, reported Reuters. “Renting compute resources may offer a far better return on investment, enabling flexibility and enabling companies to scale their compute according to both product and business cycles.”
Foxconn Expands Beyond Manufacturing
While Foxconn may be well known for its long-term relationship with Apple, the assembling firm is moving into new areas, including AI data centres and electric vehicles. Foxconn is investing heavily in AI, with around £1.5 billion ($2 billion) to £2.2 billion ($3 billion) being spent each year by the firm on AI tech.
The majority of AI racks used by Nvidia are now provided by Foxconn, with the rapidly growing AI and data centre industry boosting prospects at Foxconn. A total of 1,000 AI racks can be produced each week at Foxconn, increasing next year.
As interest in AI shows no signs of slowing down, competition is increasing in the space. More and more companies are looking to benefit from the need for data centres and computing power that is driving the AI innovation lifecycle.
“To stay competitive in the AI era, Taiwan must rapidly establish scalable and cost-effective AI infrastructure,” said the CEO of Visionbay.ai, Neo Yao. “Only with strong, accessible compute can we accelerate AI adoption, expand industry applications, and cultivate a world-class environment for AI talent and innovation.”
