Data Centre World Paris 2023 sets new benchmarks with expert insights and global perspectives

CloserStill Media’s Data Centre World Paris 2023 leads the way as a premier event for the data centre sector, featuring a compelling lineup of sessions and speakers that addressed key industry trends and challenges.

Data Centre World Paris is part of Tech Show Paris, which brings together five leading events, including Cloud Expo Europe Paris, DevOps Live Paris, Cloud & Cyber Security Expo, Data & AI Leaders’ Summit Paris, and Data Centre World Paris.

Exploring the Future of Data Centres

The event was highlighted by an opening keynote on the societal impacts of data centres, with insights from leaders at Digital Realty France, Telehouse France, Data4, Equinix France and Gimelec.

A special panel also focused on Africa’s data centre development, featuring experts from ST Digital, Cap DC, and Africa Data Centres.

Cooling systems and their role in sector decarbonisation were discussed by France Datacenter.

Design, regulations, and funding of data centre projects were examined by speakers from Equans Data Centers, Critical Building, Artelia, SPIE, and Reed Smith.

And the potential of edge computing and micro data centres in the era of AI, IoT, and 5G was debated in a keynote panel with contributions from Schneider Electric, Open Compute Project Foundation, Vertiv, Lenovo, and Grolleau.

Anthony Same from ST Digital expressed his enthusiasm for the focus on Africa, highlighting the event’s diverse thematic coverage.

“It was a real joy to attend the show this year, not only as a visitor, but also as a speaker. I appreciated the focus on digital Africa and data centres,” said Anthony Same, CEO and Founder of ST Digital.

Partnerships and VIP Engagement

Data Centre World Paris boasted significant partnerships, including France Datacenter, and Artelia who sponsored the New Generation Data Centre, a life-size customised data centre in the heart of the show.

Top VIP visitors included key decision-makers from the Ministère de l’Intérieur, BNP Paribas, Pôle Emploi, and SNCF Réseau, reflecting the event’s importance to industry leaders.

Eiffage, an exhibitor at the show, underscored Data Centre World Paris’ significance as a central hub for the industry in Paris, citing the valuable interactions and networking opportunities it provided.

The largest gathering of data centre professionals in France also included other key exhibitors such as Schneider Electric, Legrand, Riello UPS, Kohler, and ABB.

Audience Insights and Future Directions

The event attracted a wide range of professionals, from data centre managers and CEOs, to technical engineers and consultants, with 44% identified as end-users.

Notably, a significant portion of attendees represented companies planning to build, expand, or modernise data centres in the near future.

With over 9,000 leads generated for exhibitors, Data Centre World Paris proved to be a crucial platform for industry advancements and discussions.

The 2024 programme promises to delve into hot topics such as the role of AI and operational efficiency, ensuring the event remains at the forefront of industry innovation.
