The latest Series D fundraising round by London-based AI firm PolyAI raised £64.8 million ($86 million), as the start-up looks to create the most lifelike AI voice agents. Supported by Georgian, Hedosophia, British Business Bank and Citi Ventures, this new investment brings total funding to over £149 million ($200 million).

The British Business Bank contributed £15 million ($20 million) to PolyAI, in recognition of the continuing shift from small AI pilots to real-world, comprehensive solutions that can make a significant impact on corporate operations. PolyAI is using its technology to ensure AI can support enterprises as they work to have human-like conversations with customers, backed by AI.

“The UK has all the right components to be a world leader in AI, with strong technological talent and the venture market to back it up. For the UK to realise its AI ambitions, we must support fast-growing AI companies like PolyAI by providing them with the capital they need to succeed and grow here in the UK,” explained Leandros Kalisperas, Chief Investment Officer at British Business Bank. “This will help to ensure we benefit from their growth and success.”

According to PolyAI, the company’s agentic AI solutions are currently handling the work of more than 1,000 full-time staff at businesses including Marriott, Caesars Entertainment, PG&E, UniCredit, and Foot Locker. The service is in operation in 45 languages and more than 25 countries, with around 2,000 active deployments.

“PolyAI started with a simple idea: enterprises should sound human,” said Nikola Mrkšić, CEO and Co-Founder of PolyAI. “We turned that idea into reality, and it led to something far greater: the emergence of the agentic enterprise. This is a living, breathing system that understands what your customers, employees, and AI agents are doing in real time, and helps them all succeed together.”
