Action1 expands into Europe with new data centre in Germany

Written by Wed 13 Dec 2023

Patch management platform, Action1, announced it has established a data centre in Frankfurt, Germany. This comes as part of its expansion into the European market.

The data centre aims to support Action1 users in adhering to strict GDPR standards, while also ensuring compliance with data residency and sovereignty requirements. Action1 did not disclose any specifications of the new facility.

“We are excited to bring our proven expertise in vulnerability remediation to European organisations and assist them in staying ahead of emerging threats,” said Mike Walters, President and Co-founder at Action1.

Action1 announced its plans to introduce its modern cloud-native platform to European organisations. This move aims to empower users to effectively identify, prioritise, remediate vulnerabilities, and enhance user security posture.

The company said it will also establish a presence in the UK, France, Austria, and Switzerland to be closer to its European users.

“In the future, we plan to strengthen our presence within the EU market by expanding further, hiring additional personnel, and growing our partner network,” said Walters.

Action1 said its entry into the European market is timely considering the growing challenge for European companies to address vulnerabilities and stop ransomware threats.

The European Council also identified ransomware as a significant EU cyber threat, with 60% of affected organisations considering ransom payments.

The management platform also cited a Statista report that found organisations take up to 290 days to patch vulnerabilities which leaves a window of opportunity for cyberattacks.

Last month, The UK and Singapore led the first international agreement of its time. Members of the Counter Ransomware Initiative affirmed on 2 November that relevant funds from central government should not be used to pay a ransomware attacker.
