About
Following a master’s degree in aerospace engineering and subsequent work in the European defense industry he moved into the IT industry in 1999 and has worked in many different functions covering both technical, operational and commercial areas.
After having led several international engineering teams to design and deploy datacenters across Europe and America, Niels moved into a technical commercial role that eventually resulted in his change to NTT Europe where he oversaw all activities for NTT Europe’ largest client, the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) for a period of nearly 8 years.
During these 8 years, Niels led the cross-company team that developed the first UEFA Video Store and oversaw the development and introduction of many new technologies such as content delivery networks, virtualization, and cloud services.
In 2011 Niels changed to Verizon to work as a cloud sales specialist and team leader. There he was responsible for the cloud services sales used by some of Verizon’s top global accounts in Central Europe.
He rejoined NTT Europe in 2016 and currently leads a team of over 20 solution consultants as the EMEA director for Solution Design.
Niels currently lives in Switzerland where he tries to enjoy backcountry skiing as much as work and family allows.
