Dr W Kuan Hon is a Senior Researcher working on cloud law projects at Queen Mary University of London, and also a Consultant specialising in data protection/security law, cloud contracts and technical issues for Pinsent Masons, the law firm behind Out-Law.com. An English solicitor and (non-practising) New York attorney, Kuan has degrees in both law and computing science and a joint law/computer science PhD. She regularly speaks at events in the UK and abroad, having presented for CERN on cloud computing and for ENISA and Defcon London on cloud security. Kuan was the lead author of 8 chapters in Cloud Computing Law (OUP 2013, Millard ed.). Her articles, many with collaborators, have been published e.g. by the IEEE 7th International Conference on Cloud Computing and Stanford Technology Law Review. Kuan is a member of the British Computer Society’s Information Privacy Expert Panel (IPEP).
