Julien Goupil, aged 40, is the Media Director of Amaury Sport Organisation since 2010. A.S.O. is a subsidiary of the Groupe Amaury, a press company that edits newspapers such as l’Equipe and Parisien-Aujourd’hui en France and owns the TV channel, l’Equipe 21. A.S.O. is a company that creates and organises World class sporting events among which are the Tour de France, the Dakar, the Marathon de Paris, the Alstom Open de France golf tournament and the sailing Tour de France. Internally, it manages all functions linked to organisation, marketing and media broadcast of sporting events. Today, A.S.O is concerned by 60 events in 20 countries and over 250 days of competition every year. After graduating from l’ESSEC obtaining an MBA in 1999, Julien Goupil then founded the Wireless Stadium company, specialized in the development of sport games for mobile phones. He then joined Havas Advertising Sport in 2001 where he especially took care of the partnership between mobile phone operator SFR and the French national football team. In 2004, he joined A.S.O., in charge of New Media customers before heading the Television department. He was in charge of sales and of image production for all of the A.S.O. events. In 2010, he was appointed to Director of Media and member of the Executive comity. Added to the management of the TV department, his missions today include the management of the Press relations and media promotion offices as well as the management of the Digital branch and Editions of all the A.S.O. events.
