Deborah has 20+ years of experience in sustainable design and manufacture and is proud to be a Chartered Environmentalist. In addition to teaching and championing sustainability to under and post-graduate students on design and engineering courses,
Deborah is engaged in enterprise, consultancy and research activities and supervises industry and EPSRC-funded PhD projects with particular emphasis on design for sustainability, Life Cycle Assessment and the Circular Economy.
The subjects of this work range in scale and include thermostatic radiator valves, blinds and shading products, refrigerated display cabinets and buildings. She is also leading CEDaCI, an EU / Interreg-funded multidisciplinary project with industrial and academic partners in Germany, the Netherlands, France and Belgium to develop a Circular Economy for the Data Centre Industry.
