David joined Telefónica O2 UK in 2005. He was appointed to his current role in 2012, and is responsible for O2’s smart home, connected car and smart metering business, as well as the commercial development of new IoT solutions for businesses & consumers.
Prior to this, David was Chief Marketing & Commercial Officer at Tesco Mobile (a 50:50 joint venture between Telefónica and Tesco) working on secondment. He was responsible for all market & customer facing activities, and during his tenure Tesco Mobile grew to become the UK’s largest MVNO (mobile virtual network operator).
Before joining Telefónica, David was VP of Consumer Marketing at Orange responsible for customer acquisition & loyalty, and product marketing & development.
Prior to working in mobile telecommunications, David held senior commercial roles in both the payments industry and the technology sector.
