Dave Wolfenden

Data Centre

Dave Wolfenden has worked in and around the datacentre industry since the mid-80’s, either operating them, implementing IT infrastructure, migrating IT services, design and construction or testing new datacentres. Dave set-up Mafi Mushkila in 2002 to provide IT services to support Aviva in the build of two 2.5MW datacentres and the migration of eight datacentres into them. During the commissioning phase of one datacentres Dave realised the level of testing was not granular enough to guarantee the performance of the new facility; at this point he setup heatload.co.uk to develop rack mounted heat load and server emulators. 7-years later the company has a rental fleet of more than 16MW of heat load and provides load for approximately 70 to 80 datacentre annually.
